Business Planner - Denver (Sports Marketing/Retail)
| Purpose: Wholesale facing role that analyzes merchandise performance, forecasts future results and partners with our company's sales and finance teams to drive sales and margin growth for both our company and the wholesaler. Acts as a key player in driving the decision making process in order to create profitable sales that benefit to both parties. Key Accountabilities: Collaborate with Sales and Business Development to create and/or recommend seasonal / core product mix for assigned accounts in order to maximize sales potential. Support Sales, Marketing and Finance partners to break down their long term business account plans to define sales targets that will help them realize their goals. Partner with wholesale retailer to understand their financial plan in relation to our company targets. Translate their plan against our company plan to help ensure both organizations are successful. Provide risk and opportunity analyses on retailer sell-in and sell-thru performances. Analyze and provide detail on account performance by style, climate, region and store. Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports for Sales Management, Finance and Marketing to provide detailed overview of business performance by account. Ensure financial and non-financial managers are provided highly-accurate information and analysis to help support business decisions. Monitor ladder and replenishment forecasts / orders and provide guidance to improve accuracy and account sell-thru. Maintain awareness and evaluate effectiveness of current sales trends. Contribute to the development of standardized best practice reporting and control methods. Build positive working relationships with key account employees within the wholesale account, such as Associate/Assistant Buyers and Planners. On a regular basis, provide detailed analysis on brand performance.Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Ability to build, plan and flow product assortments based on current trends that can address both targeted objectives and account specific needs while maximizing sales, margin and inventory turn. Proven ability to operate cross-functionally, join data from various sources and develop creative and innovative solutions within an entrepreneurial environment. Ability to provide in-season course correction recommendations that will further account and our company performances. Demonstrated analytical skills, good understanding and experience with retail math and retail financial drivers and comfort with Finance and/or Accounting principles Advanced skills in Word, Excel PowerPoint and Business Objects (or other reporting software) Ability to think cross functionally and develop solutions in a fast paced environment Strong prioritization skills and the ability to be detail oriented and accomplish assignments simultaneously under tight timelines Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, stakeholders, cross functional business leaders, sales representatives, peers, clients, and customers.Qualifications: Four year degree in Business, Finance or Accounting Minimum four years' experience in retail planning/buying or related field Industry specific experience preferred
